What professional credentials does your company / employees hold?
Bill Kirkaldy is an Enrolled Agent and holds a Master of Business Administration degree. Macomb Income Tax, LLC is an Authorized IRS e-File Provider.

What is an Enrolled Agent?
An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.

Where is your office located?
Our office is located in Clinton Township, Michigan, but we can pickup and drop-off your tax documents to your home or business within Macomb County, Michigan at no additional charge.

What are your hours?
We are available 7-days a week from 8:00am - 8:00pm.

Do you have weekend / evening appointments available?
Yes, our main goal is to make your income tax filing as convenient as possible for our clients.

What if I need assistance after tax season?
We’re available 7-days a week from 8:00am - 8:00pm.

How is my tax information secured?
Your tax return information is stored on an encrypted hard drive. Unlike most tax return companies, your data isn’t stored in filing cabinets. Our employees have a strong technical background and understand proper ways to secure data and permanently delete data without leaving traces behind.

Will my friends and family know about my personal information?
Absolutely NOT. It is illegal for us to disclose any information about your tax return to anyone other than you. We would get a fine, plus be subject to possible time in jail. We are restricted to disclosing your return to anyone, unless you explicitly request us to do so in writing.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash, Check, PayPal, or Credit / Debit Cards.

Is there a service charge for paying with a credit card?
No.

Can you take your tax preparation fees out of my refund?
Beginning in 2018, we will have the ability to do this. There is however a $35 fee that is paid directly out of your refund to the bank to handle the refund transfer. However, we do realize that some clients are unable to pay our tax preparation fees up-front. We do not charge extra for this service, only the service fee imposed by the bank. You can choose to pay us directly with a credit/debit card to avoid the $35 fee.

What area does your company service?
Our immediate service area is Clinton Township, Michigan, but we do have clients in several other states across the U.S.

Do you offer direct deposit?
Yes, there is no additional charge for this service.

Will my Federal and State return be filed electronically?
Yes, there is no additional charge for this service. We can mail your return if you prefer, but the IRS encourages the use of e-File, as it is faster and more secure.

Do you charge based on a percentage of my refund?
This is illegal. We charge a base fee which covers the majority of credits and forms, call for a no-obligation price over the phone. 586-489-5553

When will I received my refund?
If you have your refund direct deposited and your return e-Filed you will receive a refund in approximately 21 days, as long as the IRS has no issues with the return.

I haven’t filed my previous year’s tax return(s), can you file those as well?
Yes!

How long does it take for you to complete my income tax return?
Most tax returns are done the same day we receive your tax documents and returned to you the next day.

How do I obtains previous copies of my tax return?
We will gladly provide you with copies of previous tax returns at no charge.
